About Anime Networx
Who founded it?
Anime Networx was founded by DarkGrave on 01/12/2004.
Why?
Simplicity and boredom were the main causes. I wanted a simple site that people could enjoy. I think we have achieved this in its current state.
What is it ran on?
Code Name: anCMS. Anime Networx Content Management System runs this site. It was coded by DarkGrave from scratch and maintains everything about the site, from affiliates to uploaders, to link adding, to the search engine. Its quite flexible and allows for plugins, skins, and more.
The badly told story:
Over the years it has gone through turmoil, love, and dispair. However it is still standing to this day as you read this. It all started when I was bored one day and my interest in anime was small back then but enough to want me to create something that people could enjoy as I could. The first version was just a forum which grew and grew then died slowly with me switching it off. After that came a site. It wasn't made with a dynamic language it was a simple html site with tutorials and graphics. No downloads were there yet. Then, I met my hoster and we began to bond. Over that time, I gained the space for what the site is on today. It has grown exponentially to new bounds. Greater than I could have imagined.
But, Before this came, I had stopped working on Anime Networx which was quite popular and many people loved it's simplicity which it is known for. Because thats what I founded it on basically was for its ease of use and data. After I stopped working on it, I began experimenting in making a anime download link oriented site. Some may remember it as Anime Lineage. Others may not. It grew to a good size but, my interest in the site began to grow less and less by every bug I found and soon I found that I didn't have the insperation to work on it anymore. After a long time people began to ask me to bring anime networx back. I told them I couldn't and refused the idea of being able to do it. A guy named "LMF_" inspired me to bring my site back with this new great inspiration I began molding anime networx. A few tries later you have what is today. A new Anime Content Management System and Search.
The Anime Networx does look like a Search Engine. Why, one may ask.
The reason is simple. We have many ideas to push into this, We are going to incorperate many things in the near future which you will benifit from majorly! Along with that we are also pushing ourselfs to add more anime, manga, and such for you guys to enjoy and download. We may be lacking in anime as of now but in the future we will grow and have lots more for you to browse through, search, and more!
The search form will either become more advanced in the near future once we implement the new features that we have waiting hot on the oven for you guys or it will be revamped to better suit the new features. Yes, the site is very simplistic at the moment. Think of it like this. The site is in its beta form, soon it will grow and mature into an expanded and fully grown site and community.
